Students will develop a wide range of skills and personal qualities during their time in Sixth Form in order to leave us as well rounded young adults ready to take on the challenges of the future.
The programme is integrated into the broader curriculum with time dedicated to extension courseseach week. All Year 12 students take one of the options below as acomplementary academic qualification.

We encourage students to participate in enrichment activities includingmusic and drama, recreational sports and fitness, well-being, peer mentoring in the all-through school, charity and voluntary work and student leadership. Many of these enrichment activities compliment students’ commitment to theGold Duke of Edinburgh Awardgiving them opportunities to challenge themselves, develop new skills and give something back to their community.

The Futures Programmeprepares students for life beyond sixth form by developing the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for future success. Through five exciting strands—Impact & Leadership, Recharge, Earn, Save, Thrive, Next Steps, and Voice & Influence—students gain valuable experience in leadership, community engagement, wellbeing, financial literacy, employability and communication. The programme helps students become confident, capable and socially responsible young adults, ready to make a positive impact in their communities and take their next steps with confidence.

Leadership Opportunities
CFS is unique in that we are an all-through school which affords immense opportunities for student leadership. Our head students, supported by a team of prefects, mentor and coach younger children and represent the school at public events. In all of these activities, our student leaders are learning valuable life-long skills.
Post 18 Guidance
It is our vision that every one of our students will leave CFS equipped and qualified to take up exciting opportunities in careers and Higher Education. They are advised and guided with bespoke UCAS preparation and careers advice. Year 12 students are all given the opportunity to connect with an industry mentor for their two years of sixth form. All students have a careers interview and we welcome specialists to talk about the applications process and student finance. All students visit the UCAS Higher Education fair at Surrey University and the National Apprenticeship Show in Year 12.
All Year 12 students are supported to find work experience during the year, whether in person or online. We hold a dedicated Careers Day and Work Experience week for all Year 12 students.

At Cobham 6th we challenge our students to aim high and provide the support and inspiration they need to reach their full potential. We support top performing students to apply to the most competitive courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine and academic courses at top Russell Group universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
Opportunities to do this include lectures, workshops, research groups, wider reading, competitions, practical tasks and enrichment opportunities. This wider knowledge and understanding will help you to stand out from the crowd when making applications to elite destinations.

CFS Super Curricular
‘Super-curricular’ means activities that take your academic learning further, rather than ‘Extra-curricular’ which is separate from your school subjects. Many of the links you will find here take you to short online talks, podcasts, lectures, etc..
An hour of your time could open up depths of new understanding and give you a crucial edge in your academic learning, your applications and at interviews. The top universities are far more interested in your super-curricular learning than your extra-curricular activities.
Being able to demonstrate that you have an intellectual curiosity that goes beyond the content taught in class is the key to distinguishing yourself and becoming an attractive and successful applicant.
